Frederic Guilbert girlfriend makes transfer window plea as Aston Villa decision looms

Frederic Guilbert’s girlfriend has taken to Instagram in an attempt to stop being inundated with messages over the Aston Villa player’s future. Guilbert’s partner Noemie says her “head is on the holidays” and has stressed how she “will not communicate anything at all” with regards to Guilbert and the upcoming summer transfer window.

Guilbert rejoined Strasbourg last summer on a season-long loan after a successful six-month spell the season before. This term, the right-back has enjoyed a standout campaign having been named in countless Ligue 1 team of the weeks, with fifth-placed Strasbourg - involved in a relegation battle last year - poised to qualify for Europe with just one fixture remaining this weekend at Marseille.

Guilbert, 27, has played in 32 of Strasbourg’s 37 Ligue 1 games and has chalked up four assists while helping to keep 13 clean sheets. Last weekend, the full-back played in his final home match in the 1-0 win over Clermont Foot. Prior to that victory, Guilbert said: “I just want one last dance. This Saturday is my last at home and maybe my last here. Whatever happens in the future I want to thank you for this incredible season, for your support, for your love on a daily basis. Thank you.”

Guilbert is expected to rejoin Steven Gerrard’s first-team when pre-season begins at the beginning of July, with a decision over his future set to be made this summer. His current Villa contract expires in June 2023. However, Guilbert’s girlfriend and mum to his two daughters, Noemie, was quick to issue a message to those getting in touch asking about her man’s future given Guilbert has become a cult hero amongst fans at Le Racing.
