Fred shares his Manchester United frustration following Watford draw

Midfielder Fred has shared his frustration after Manchester United were held to a goalless draw by Watford at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.

Despite creating a plethora of opportunities during the first-half, United, who lost 4-1 to Watford at Vicarage Road back in November, failed to take any of the chances that came their way, with Alex Telles, Bruno Fernandes and Cristiano Ronaldo amongst those to have gone close.

United continued to turn the screw after the half-time interval but their play, as the contest wore on, became rushed and desperate, meaning Watford, somehow, did enough to cling on, earn a clean sheet and secure an unlikely away point.

The draw ended United's two-game winning run in the Premier League, but means that they have now won just one of their last three home games.

With United's home form continuing to stutter, Brazilian Fred, who started alongside Nemanja Matic in midfield, took to Instagram to share his frustrations, sharing a short message.

He wrote: "Frustrating not to find a win at home."

United's home form has been heavily questioned this season, particularly for their struggles to put the ball in the net as frequent as they would have liked to at Old Trafford.

Furthermore, the stalemate with the Hornets put a potential dent in United's top-four ambitions. A win for the Reds would have seen them tighten their grip on fourth-place and move four points clear of Arsenal.

Instead, they now only have a two-point cushion on the Gunners and they have three games in hand on United, meaning the situation is now firmly out of the Reds' control.

Arsenal are not in action this weekend due to Liverpool being in the Carabao Cup final.
