Frankfurt president taunts Rangers fans as unimpressed Peter Fischer insists the 'super louds' didn't turn up

Eintracht Frankfurt president Peter Fischer has taken a swipe at Rangers' support after the Bundesliga outfit triumphed in last night's Europa League final in Seville.

Joe Aribo capitalised on a defensive mishap to put Rangers ahead after 57 minutes but the German's came roaring back and equalised through Rafael Borre shortly after.

It all came down to spot-kick's and it was Frankfurt who won the penalty lottery to lift their second European trophy.

Rangers took an incredible 100,000 fans to Spain, fans travelling in any way possible to support their side, but failed to generate the famous feared Ibrox atmosphere.

Fischer admit's he was far from impressed with the 20,000 who were inside the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.

He said: "We had respect for our opponents. It was a fixture worth a final. Two big, traditional clubs, both with big fanbases. But what I have to say is that everybody from Glasgow told me "we wont hear you, because we will be so loud and that we will make it a home game. They still said that today everywhere.

"Where have they been? Where in the world have they been? We couldn't hear them and then they disappeared after the final whistle. This shows there is less sportsmanship and that's what I criticise.

"Our fanbase helped us win the game, they were fantastic against the 'super louds'."
