Frank Lampard 'rejects' chance to return to management as wait for next dugout role continues

Frank Lampard has turned down the opportunity to manage Canada, according to a report.

The Chelsea legend was among those shortlisted for the international boss role but has decided against a return to the dugout at this time. Since his interim stint at Stamford Bridge last season following Graham Potter's disappointing tenure as Chelsea manager, Lampard has been without a club. Despite failing to ignite a spark in the team, he has been linked with various clubs across Europe, both abroad and in the EFL. He was one of the names in the frame for the Rangers job before Philippe Clement was installed as the man to replace Michael Beale after his sacking.

His availability has also caught the attention of teams further afield, with the Canada national team reportedly considering the former Everton manager for a long-term appointment. However, The Telegraph reports that the former England international has now removed himself from consideration for the role, currently held by Mauro Biello.

The 45-year-old is said to be waiting 'for the right opportunity', meaning Canada will need to explore other options. Lampard has openly expressed his desire to return to management when the time is right. He's had previous experience managing at Derby County, Everton and Chelsea before returning to the Blues for a second stint on an interim basis.

Recently, he was seen observing England's training sessions led by Gareth Southgate ahead of the Three Lions' friendlies against Brazil and Belgium last month. Lampard continues to be a regular sight at football stadiums across the nation.

Earlier this season, when asked about his plans to return to management, He explained: "I'm enjoying being with the family and looking to get back at some
