Frank Lampard delivers positive Everton injury news after Dominic Calvert-Lewin concern
Frank Lampard has confirmed that Everton are hopeful Dominic Calvert-Lewin could return for the trip to face Tottenham Hotspur on Monday.
The striker missed his side's last match, the 1-0 defeat to Man City at Goodison Park on Saturday, because of a slight adductor issue.
The England international had previously sat out of a large chunk of the current campaign thanks to a quadriceps injury - keeping him on the sidelines for four months.
However in some positive news for the Blues, while Lampard confirmed he wouldn't be in the squad to face Boreham Wood on Thursday, it seems Calvert-Lewin could be in line to come back against Spurs.
The Everton boss admitted: "Dominic's not ready for tomorrow [Thursday].
"We're hopeful he'll be with us training at the weekend.
"We're hopeful of that which would put him in contention for Tottenham on Monday."
Everton were denied the opportunity to salvage a point against Man City last time out thanks to a controversial decision not to award a penalty when the ball looked to have struck Rodri on the arm.
Lampard would have loved to get a point from that occasion, but he is not worried about the positive mood around the club being changed by the defeat.
"I have to say that the feeling I've had from the fans since I've come has been a really positive one, and that's something I really appreciate - but most importantly the players should," he added.
"It's so positive. Particularly at Goodison, we know we need to be better away.
"But if this [the penalty decision] is something that adds to it slightly, sometimes little events can help galvanise a little bit more out of everybody.
"You still loose a point, I'd take the point all day over that. But at the same time if we can understand that we
