Frank Bruno warns Tyson Fury that he would've been 'eaten for dinner' in his era

Former heavyweight champion Frank Bruno, has stated that the boxing giants of his generation would “eat Tyson Fury for dinner” as he believes there to be a big difference between the current boxing era and the one that he fought in.

Bruno doesn’t think the Gypsy King would be able to compare with the top fighters of his time and thinks he is “living on a different cloud.”

British boxing icon Bruno won the WBC heavyweight title after facing a gauntlet of challengers including Mike Tyson, Lennox Lewis, Oliver McCall, and Joe Bugner.

Bruno eventually won against McCall in 1995 at Wembley, but shortly lost the green and gold strap to Tyson during their rematch in ’96. Bruno retired shortly thereafter.

Tyson Fury is currently viewed as one of the most feared fighters in the heavyweight division following his second sequential win over Deontay Wilder to retain his WBC world title. Fury is set to make his second defence against Dillian Whyte on April 23rd live on talkSPORT.

Bruno maintains that the 33-year-old has experienced a much smoother climb to success than he would have encountered in previous years.

Speaking to DAZN, he said: “It’s a good fight, Dillian Whyte is very powerful. Tyson Fury is dangerous and can box. What he’s learned, Dillian Whyte wouldn’t know, it would break him.

“If [Whyte] hits Fury, he’ll hit the floor. Tyson Fury is going to show him some movements and upset him. He can adapt if you’re southpaw, he can southpaw. If you dig deep, he can dig deep. He fought the most dangerous man on the planet, Deontay Wilder, who threw his toys out of the pram.”
