Franco De Port heads the 30 in Irish Grand National

Franco De Port heads the weights for the 150th running of the Irish Grand National after declarations were made this morning for the BoyleSports backed contest on Easter Monday at Fairyhouse.

The Thyestes runner-up will be one of two runners for champion trainer Willie Mullins with Paul Townend taking the mount on ante-post favourite Gaillard Du Mesnil.

Including one of the reserves, Gordon Elliott has declared 12 for the three-mile-five marathon.

Davy Russell rides Mount Ida, who unshipped at the first fence in the Grand National at Aintree last week.

Jack Kennedy has chosen Frontal Assault, one of eight runners for owners Gigginstown. The Presenting gelding was last seen pulling up 'on tacky ground' in the Kim Muir at Cheltenham.

Six of the also rans from Aintree turn out again in the race with the Ciaran Murphy-trained Enjoy D'allen another who exited at the first in the Liverpool showpiece trying his luck again.

His owner JP McManus has eight runners and is also responsible for two of the reserves.
