Four-vehicle crash on M4 causes long tailbacks - live updates

There are large queues on the M4 due to a collision reportedly involving four cars. The incident was first reported at around 11.15am on Wednesday, July 27, between junction 40 for Port Talbot and junction 38 at Margam on the eastbound carriageway.

Motorists are advised to factor in additional traffic time as the situation develops. Currently, lane one of two is blocked.

Traffic reporting system Inrix says: "One lane blocked and queueing traffic due to accident, four vehicles involved on M4 Eastbound from J40 A4107 Tanygroes Street (Port Talbot / Taibach) to J38 A48 (Margam). Congestion to J41 ( Baglan / Pentyla). Lane one (of two) is blocked."
