Four signings, new-look attack - Man United's dream XI for first day of 2025/26 season

The new 2025/26 Premier League season kicks-off in just over a month's time and by the time Manchester United face Arsenal, Ruben Amorim's team could look incredibly different.

United were handed a tough start to the new campaign with title challengers Arsenal visiting Old Trafford on Sunday August 17. Improving on last year's 15th-place finish is a matter of urgency for everyone connected at United and Amorim has already been handed the tools to do.

Matheus Cunha has already been signed from Wolves for £62.5million and Bryan Mbeumo is expected to follow him through the door at Carrington for slightly more. It's understood that more players are likely to be signed before the transfer window closes, although there is a desperate need to sell players.

Goalkeeper - Lucas Chevalier

Previously, there was an expectation that Andre Onana would leave United unless something drastically happened. That drastic trigger may have finally landed with reports stating United are open to loaning him out to make room for a new goalkeeper.

Emiliano Martinez and Diogo Costa have both been mentioned but Lille's Lucas Chevalier is available and a financial option. Aston Villa have been tipped to make a move but United could improve their goalkeeper with the £40m arrival.

Defenders - Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt, Noussair Mazraoui

Despite having their critics, United have worked a fine line in their recruitment of defenders. Matthijs de Ligt and Leny Yoro came in last year and when fit, slot perfectly into Amorim's back three.
