Four roads shut as fire breaks out in town
Four roads are closed as emergency services tackle a fire on a street in Barry. The South Wales Fire and Rescue Service said it was called to Holton Road, Barry at around 7.15am on Wednesday (May 8) and sent six fire engines to the scene.
As of 10.40am, they said the incident is "ongoing". They previously also urged people to avoid the area and keep their windows and doors closed. South Wales Police also issued a statement at around 8.45am which said: "Emergency services are currently dealing with an incident on Holton Road in Barry the following roads are currently closed Kings Square, Holton Road, Newland Road and Richard street. It is likely to remain closed for sometime, please use alternative route."
