Four reasons why Pep Guardiola will 'definitely' sign a new Man City deal and build a dynasty

With Manchester City seemingly on a mission to sign up their best and most promising players to new long-term contracts, Pep Guardiola's future is the issue on every supporter's mind.

The City boss' current deal expires in June 2023, by which point he will have been in Manchester for seven years. Despite his claims to the contrary, the Spaniard is arguably more important to City's success than any player at the club.

Guardiola has never spent so long in a managerial position, but there is hope at City that he will decide to extend his stay for another few years at least. Here are four reasons why he will do exactly that.

Where could be better?

Simply put, where else in the world could Guardiola find the players and resources he needs to implement his footballing ideals and build a successful side in his own image?

At Barcelona he had a great relationship with the club but was burdened by the pressure of managing his boyhood side, while at Bayern Munich there were some tensions between himself and those upstairs. At City he has no such issues to worry about.

Guardiola is a coach who isn't just driven by winning, but by experience and learning too. If he did fancy a new challenge away from City, where would he go? He's done La Liga, the Bundesliga and the Premier League.

Unfinished business

Pep may have the perfect set-up at City but he still can't claim to have won all he can at the Etihad Stadium. Getting his hands back on the Champions League trophy remains a key goal.
