Forza Horizon 5 expansion set to feature epic Hot Wheels collab

An accidental leak on Steam’s home page has pretty much confirmed that Forza Horizon 5 will be collaborating with Hot Wheels in the game’s first expansion.

This information was quickly taken down, but data miners and leakers managed to get hold of the image and archive it so it was available for all to see ahead of its integration into the infamous driving series.

The image that was used was a futuristic-looking car, likely styled on a toy version, going through an orange loop, something that Hot Wheels is renowned for.

The latest Forza received some of the highest praise on Metacritic in recent years, with the game awarded a Metascore of 92 and a User Score of 8.2 from over 3400 ratings.

As a result, Microsoft are refusing to rest on their laurels. Like in previous editions, they will be releasing expansions to keep drivers entertained over the coming years.

It appears that Mexico will be receiving an exciting twist, thanks to the help of the toy car giants Hot Wheels. This is not the first time that the two organisations have got together, they produced something remarkably similar for Forza Horizon 3, and the company have already produced cars from the game that are currently available for purchase.

Reddit user Autumnal_Leaves spotted the add-on and shared the image before Steam had time to take it down. It was displayed on the store page as “Forza Horizon 5 Premium Add-Ons Bundle”, with Forza/Hot Wheels artwork attached.

This could mean that the add-on could be introduced in the coming days and weeks ahead. With the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase set to take place this Sunday (12th June 2022).
