Formula E: Jake Dennis talks current season, London E-Prix, FE future & much more

Formula E makes its return to London this weekend as the E-Prix is once again held at the unique indoor/outdoor circuit in and around the ExCel centre.

It’s a track that has proved particularly kind to British driver Jake Dennis, too, with him taking victory there in one of the races as part of an impressive 2021 campaign.

In 2022, he’s not quite had the same level of results thus far but form is improving as we head into the penultimate weekend of the championship, and he’ll be eager to finish on a high – starting with a good result in front of his home crowd in London.

Ahead of the weekend, we caught up with Jake to look back at the season so far, his hopes for this weekend and his thoughts on Formula E in general, with the sport seemingly enjoying a growing popularity right now….

Firstly Jake, how would you reflect on this season and how it’s compared to the success of last year?

“I think it’s fair to say that it’s not where we wanted to be, there are only two rounds to go and we probably expected a little bit more, especially after a promising start to the season.

“But yeah things have just slipped away a little bit and we’ve been a bit unlucky, and ultimately we just haven’t been as quick as the top four so I think honestly where we are in the championship is pretty representative of where we deserve to be. I think we’ve had a pretty promising qualifying car this year, we’ve had quite a few top fives, and then it’s the race pace that has limited us this year in terms of getting us those strong results which we managed to get last year.
