Formula 1: George Russell offers teaser amid talk Mercedes are eyeing silver livery return
The Formula 1 2022 season feels a lot closer now we’re in February, with every team set to reveal their car and go testing in Barcelona in the next few weeks.
The biggest regulation change in a generation is taking place ahead of the new campaign and the excitement to see what the new cars are going to look like is palpable, with all-new liveries decked over completely overhauled machinery.
Certainly, many will be interested to see what the new Mercedes is going to look like with the reigning Constructors’ champions determined to remain the team to beat despite the new rules coming into play.
George Russell will be hoping that they do exactly that, too, as he gears up for his first year with the team, having already spent time getting to know his new colleagues at their HQ in Brackley.
And, amid talk Mercedes may revert back to their silver livery after two years in all black to show their support for the BLM movement, Russell offered a little teaser:
“I saw a show car with the 2022 livery on, which looks great!” he said during a video clip of him on his first day with the team.
“I can’t wait to show you all that. I’m sure you’re going to absolutely love it. No giving away what colour it is, you’ll have to wait and see…”
The Silver Arrows, as Mercedes are known, could be heading back to their original colour scheme, then, as F1 ushers in a new era.
