Former WWE World Champion to challenge Bron Breakker for NXT Title

WWE look set to inject some further star power into NXT 2.0 by bringing in Dolph Ziggler to challenge for the NXT Championship.

Ziggler and the current NXT Champion Bron Breakker have been trading blows over Twitter in recent weeks and it looks like a more physical head-to-head is set to go down between the pair. 

Following Monday Night Raw last night Ziggler was interviewed backstage and addressed the situation, threatening to ‘slap Breakker around a bit’ and hinting that he may show up at tomorrow night’s NXT show on Syfy.

Taking to Twitter, the NXT Champion responded by promising the Show Off the next shot at his title, once he’s dispatched of Santos Esobar at next Tuesday’s Vengeance Day event.

Dolph would the latest star from Raw to work a programme on NXT 2.0, following AJ Styles’ recent angle with Grayson Waller across WWE TV, in a tactic to boost the show’s ratings. 

There had been reports last month that internally WWE are disappointed with NXT 2.0’s numbers in its four months and were expecting more fans to gravitate towards the newer stars quicker than they ultimately have.
