Former Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea shares cryptic message after Newcastle defeat

Former Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea has once again taken to social media to post a cryptic message in the wake of another defeat for Erik ten Hag's side.

Anthony Gordon's second-half strike was enough to condemn the Red Devils to a sixth Premier League defeat of the season, in a game in which the Magpies dominated for most of proceedings. United withdrew both Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford after the hour mark but failed to muster any real sighters on goal throughout the contest.

De Gea, who was allowed to leave the club earlier this year, is still without a club and has now been seemingly replaced by former Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana. The former Spain international, however, has continued to add further fuel to the fire by again taking to X, formerly Twitter, to post yet another mysterious emoji.

Following the full-time whistle at St. James' Park, the 33-year-old posted a cold-faced emoji, with the tweet quickly garnering plenty of attention from those around the footballing world. It has now been viewed over 11 million times.

While it remains to be seen exactly what De Gea means, as he continues in his series of online messages, most feel that the goalkeeper is still somewhat frustrated to have been replaced at the Theatre of Dreams this summer, especially after the recent form seen by Onana.
