Former Manchester United forward heads list of five players leaving Ebbsfleet United

Ebbsfleet United have released five players but are in contract talk with 16 others.

Just four Fleet players have contracts for the 2022/23 campaign, including joint-top scorer Rakish Bingham, but talks have started with the majority of the squad that finished third in National League South this season.

However, heading out of the exit door are Lee Martin, Kresh Krasniqi, Adam Mekki, Michael West and Will Wood.

Former Manchester United and Gillingham forward Lee Martin made 15 starts and 15 substitute appearances for the Fleet this term, including a brief outing off the bench in the National League South play-off final defeat at Dorking Wanderers.

Kraniqi finished the campaign on loan at relegated Billericay, although injury meant he missed the final few matches of the campaign. He made seven appearances for Ebbsfleet.

Popular midfielder Michael West departs after making just 21 outings in two years. He ended the season on loan at Isthmian South East Herne Bay, helping them win promotion via the play-offs.

Mekki started the season with two goals in his first two games before injury ruled him out until December. He scored five times in five starts and 10 substitute outings this season. Mekki joined the club, initially on loan from Bromley in January 2020.

Wood was red-carded on his first start of the season at Eastbourne in October. He made just 12 starts and seven substitute appearances this term.

A club statement said: "We wish them the very best of fortune for the future following such professional attitude and hard work in the red and green shirts during 2021/22."

The four players with another year on their deals are 17-goal Bingham, Sido Jombati, Joe Martin and Craig Tanner.
