Antonio Valencia has revealed he was proud of Manchester United youngster Hannibal Mejbri following his brief cameo in Tuesday's defeat to Liverpool.
United suffered yet another embarrassment at Anfield as they were once again battered by their great rivals and handed a 4-0 defeat, which easily could have been even worse. Mohamed Salah netted a brilliant brace while there were also goals for Luis Diaz and Sadio Mane.
It was a dismal display from Ralf Rangnick's side, who managed an xG of just 0.09 — their lowest of the season — but even more disappointing was a complete lack of fight from most of the players. The only minor positive on an otherwise disastrous night was the short appearance by Hannibal.

The young playmaker is the latest prospect looking to break into the first team after making his debut on the final day of last season and continues to improve in the current campaign. However, a combination of injuries and getting valuable experience, representing his country Tunisia in two international tournaments, has seen his progress at Old Trafford slow a little this season.
Hannibal's introduction on Merseyside with six minutes remaining was his first senior appearance of the season and just his second for the club. Though the Tunisian, like the rest of the team, didn't have a particularly good display as it was he who lost the ball in the build-up to the fourth goal, he has still earned plaudits from pundits, players and fans alike in the days since the defeat.
That's because in just a few minutes the 19-year-old showed more guts, tenacity and frustration at the result than the rest of his more experienced teammates put together.
