Bedridden ex-Eagles Captain, Mr. Henry Nwosu yesterday, confirmed that he is being taken abroad for further medical attention, even though his health status is gradually improving following treatment at the Specialist Hospital, Asaba, Delta State.

Speaking to Journalists at the hospital premises, Nwosu, said that his condition has greatly improved given what he had experienced while in Imo State about a month now.

“I feel better now, and I want to thank Delta State government and Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for the overwhelming support since I arrived at this hospital.

“I want to use this opportunity to appeal for more support for ex-internationals, who really need help.

“I want to also thank the governments of Imo, Edo, Ondo and others, as well as organisations and individuals who have been supporting me to recover my health,” he said.

Nwosu’s younger sister, Mrs. Kate Kogolo, said the family members were “overwhelmed by the Delta Government’s gesture and love shown to our brother since he came to this hospital, but we decided to move Henry for further treatment to an undisclosed hospital abroad.

“When we came, we never expected that we were going to receive this kind of love from Delta State government and the people at this hospital. Before we came here, Henry had spent well over N3 million in Imo State battling the ailment, yet we wanted to keep it secret.

“Since the press blew it up, we have been overwhelmed by the support from the Delta government, who took over the entire cost of his treatment and concerns from across the country and outside the country.

“My brother is better now, but he is still on medication and I am happy and grateful to the state government for the overwhelming support given to Henry
