Former Boston Celtics second-round pick signs with new team

A former Boston Celtics Second-Round pick, who also played with the Milwaukee Bucks and Los Angeles Clippers, is heading overseas to join Virtus Pallacanestro Bologna in Italy.

Not every player in the NBA will succeed, and others may find themselves out of the league just a few years after being selected.  This lesson was recently learnt by Semi Ojeleye, a former Boston Celtics wing who struggled to gain a spot in the team’s rotation. 

As a result, he spent time with the Milwaukee Bucks and Los Angeles Clippers before failing to sign a new contract this summer as a free agent.

It appears that everything has turned out well for the Kansas native, though, as he will be taking his skills to Italy next season to play with Virtus Pallacanestro Bologna.

Semi Ojeleye, a former second-round draft pick, is moving to Italy to play with Virtus Pallacanestro Bologna after beginning the 2021–22 season with the Milwaukee Bucks, being moved to the Los Angeles Clippers in the middle of the season, and then being released.

Orazio Cauchi of BasketNews.com first reported Virtus’ interest in the 6-foot-6 forward, and Semi Ojeleye announced he would travel to Italy on Wednesday.
