Former Antrim winner and camogie president Spence dies

Former Antrim All-Ireland winner and president of the Camogie Association, Lily Spence, has died.

Spence was part of the 1947 Saffron side that won the All-Ireland camogie final, beating Dublin 2-04 to 2-01 at Corrigan Park in Belfast.

It is with great sadness we offer our condolences on the death of Lily Spence. Lily won an All-Ireland with Antrim in 47. Served Antrim in every admin role. And later Spence became the association's president from 1956 to 1959, while also serving as treasurer for 20 years.

Spence referred four All-Ireland finals in 1953, 1955, and then back-to-back deciders in 1971 and 1972.
