Forensics tape off part of street after neighbours hear 'shouting' in early hours
Forensics taped off part of a residential street in Burnage on Thursday (February 6) following an incident in the early hours.
Residents reported hearing 'shouting' before police and paramedics were called to the scene on Kingswood Road at around 4.40am.
It was established that a man in his late 40s had been assaulted. His injuries were described as minor and did not need hospital treatment. Another man, aged 30, was arrested on suspicion of Section 18 assault and was taken into custody.
An area outside a row of houses remained taped off throughout Thursday morning, with Crime Scene Investigators working at the scene.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said in a statement: "On Thursday 6 February 2025 at approximately 4.40am, we were called to reports of an assault at a property on Kingswood Road in Burnage, Manchester.
"A man, aged 30, has been arrested on suspicion of a Section 18 assault and remains in custody for questioning.
"The victim, a man in his late 40s, received minor injuries and did not require hospital treatment."
