Football on TV tonight: Live Wednesday action during international break

The Premier League title race has taken a pause due to the international break with players heading off to their respective nations.

It means the amount of live football has notably dropped but there are still a few games to get stuck into. Those early risers can watch football from Down Under on Wednesday morning. Melbourne Victory and Brisbane Roar are among the two teams involved across two matches.

The WSL also has two matches being shown during the week. Manchester City Women hosts Everton Women with the game kicking off at 7pm. Those on the blue half of Manchester are still chasing a top three spot and can go level on points with their neighbours should they pick up the three points.

Chelsea Women are also in action and can go go top should they win. Emma Hayes' side will welcome Tottenham Women as the two capital sides square off. The Blues have chased league leaders Arsenal Women for much of the season but Hayes has relished the challenge. She said: "I’ve enjoyed being in this position, it makes a change for us. Everybody knows there’s a long way to go. It will go, as I’ve said all along, all the way to the wire and I stand by it. I know we have to win every game. If we drop points, then it’s clearly in Arsenal’s hands.

"Every game feels much tougher and for that reason the players have learned not to take it for granted. For me, this doesn’t feel different to any other season. It’s the last climb, it’s the last part. This is something that everybody here is quite used to."

There is also Womens Champions League action with Juventus and Lyon squaring off. WSL leaders Arsenal Women are also looking to continue their drive towards European glory and host Wolfsburg.
