Football Manager 2023 Exclusive: Miles Jacobson on the future of FM on PS5 and Xbox

Miles Jacobson has revealed that Football Manager “definitely” has a future on console as FM23 prepares to launch on both Xbox and PlayStation.

The new game releases on November 8th and is set to land on all of the usual PC storefronts.

It is also coming to Xbox Game Pass, once again, having released there for FM22 too, and a new announcement has revealed that it will also be available on PlayStation 5.

That is a huge boost for not only the player base, but also Sports Interactive, as they aim to bring FM to as many possible fans.

Miles sat down with GiveMeSport to talk all things Football Manager and he believes that there is absolutely a market for the game to continue releasing yearly on console.

The new game will hit all consoles on November 8th and Miles has revealed that the numbers the game has received on Xbox Game Pass make releasing on console annually viable.

He has admitted, however, that the team have needed to make alterations to the way the game works on console, as opposed to how it is played on PC, with one of the headline features being that it is much quicker.

Speaking exclusively to GMS, he said: “One of the reasons that we're able to do this is the game has been so successful on Xbox on Game Pass, that it's meant that we know that we definitely have a future on console.
