Football club's 'Christmas dinner in cup' hailed as 'outstanding' halftime snack

Christmas Day may still be a month away, but one football club is already in the festive spirit with its 'Christmas dinner in a cup' that fans of teams across the country admit they're desperate to try.

Stockport County, who are riding high in League One after gaining promotion in May, appear to be thriving off the field as well as on it judging by their unique menu item. The meal was shared by Football Away Days on X (formerly Twitter), where it caught the eye of thousands of users.

"Stockport County’s Christmas Dinner in a Cup, a delicious offering of tender turkey, savoury stuffing, creamy mash, and rich gravy," the account shares alongside a snap of the delicious looking grub. "£4.50. Absolute bargain."

The cup, which also includes brussels sprouts, pigs in blankets and roast potatoes, left many drooling. "A lot of pubs would pour that on a plate and charge £18," one X user declared. "Pick out the sprouts and that's a top half time warmer!"

A second said: "If clubs were judged on food, Stockport County would be in the Champions league. That looks amazing." A third said: "Very tasty, imaginative and looks better than any pub Christmas dinner. Well done Stockport."

While a fourth person praised: "Just goes to show what can be provided to the fans. Big difference here is that Stockport are providing food to the fans to LOOK after them, not to RIP them off. 1000% sure if this was offered at any Premier league ground it would cost double or treble the price."
