Folkestone Invicta's James Rogers hopes side can build on FA Cup upset at Dulwich Hamlet as they visit Bishop's Stortford in Isthmian Premier

James Rogers hopes Folkestone can build on their FA Cup heroics as they tonight return to league action.

Striker Ade Yusuff scored the only goal in their Third Qualifying Round tie at Champion Hill on Saturday as Invicta beat their National League South hosts 1-0 despite defender Nathan Green being sent off in the first half for two bookable offences on his return to his old club.

Isthmian Premier Folkestone, who are 11th in the league, visit fifth-placed Bishop’s Stortford. They are seven points better off than Neil Cugley’s men but the Kent club do have three matches in hand.

“Folkestone want to go up this year, Cugs has made no secret of that,” said experienced midfielder Rogers, who had to play most of the game at left-back after Green’s dismissal.

“If we want to do that, we need to go to places like Bishop’s Stortford and get a result.

“There’s no point winning cup games if you lose your league games.

"Cup runs are nice, especially for supporters, but the bread and butter is the league. Hopefully we don’t get too far behind in games.

“But it was a nice morale-boosting game on Saturday. Sometimes, those types of games are needed to give everyone a lift.”

Invicta have been drawn away to Southern League Premier Division South Merthyr Town in the Fourth Qualifying Round.
