Striking new images reveal how bosses of a Kent football club want to completely transform their stadium.

Folkestone Invicta kicked off their first-ever National League South campaign earlier this month after being crowned Isthmian Premier Division champions in April.

While the promotion was one of the proudest achievements in the club’s history, bosses say the success has also “highlighted the limitations” of the current Alcaline Stadium in Cheriton Road.

It has been home to Invicta since 1991 and currently has a capacity of 4,000. But with the club now competing at a higher level, plans have been unveiled to ensure the ground meets league requirements and provides an improved experience for supporters.

Images created by Hythe-based architects Hollaway show how Cheriton Road could be redeveloped, giving the ground a modern new look.

The Dugout, the stadium’s existing venue, would be “relocated and redeveloped into a modern sports bar”.

The proposals also include a dedicated education centre, commercial space for a restaurant operator and a new event area.

Family facilities have also been earmarked as part of the scheme, with the club hoping to incorporate a soft-play facility for younger supporters.

A new “state-of-the-art” gym and studio space would also be created, alongside a new hydrotherapy pool and physiotherapy centre for players and the public.

The club is also looking to improve Cheriton Road’s hospitality offering, with lounges and executive boxes overlooking the newly improved pitch.

Josh Healey, the club’s chairman, says he is “very excited” to share the vision and proposals with the community.
