Flying Celtic star forces Michael Stewart to hold up hands and say 'I got that 100 per cent WRONG'

Explosive Nicolas Kuhn already looks a shoo-in for Celtic's player of the season - and Michael Stewart admits he got it all wrong with his early assessment of the winger.

Kuhn arrived from Rapid Vienna in January and didn't exactly set the heather alight off the bat. There were signs of promise but he was part of a rotating cast of wingers and ended the season with three goals and three assists in 15 appearances. But to say he's ramped it up a gear since the summer would be the understatement of the century.

The electric wide man has gone full Jota and his output so far has been even better than the Portuguese enigma in his pomp. He's racked up 22 goal involvements (10G 11A) in just 17 appearances and is doing it when it counts too, single-handedly turning their Champions League clash with RB Leipzig on its head from behind with a first-half brace. He looks unstoppable and, with Premier League interest already emerging, the 24-year-old looks like the next off the conveyor belt who could leave for £25m+.

The £3m Celtic paid for him certainly looks a bargain now and pundit Stewart, who was skeptical about his acquisition after some inconsistent early performances, is happy to eat his words. He said on Premier Sports' Scottish Football Social Show: “This is a new signing in the summer, because last season there was no danger that anyone would have predicted that this is the sort of player we would have been seeing. No chance. He has been a completely different player.
