Floyd Mayweather to fight on Burj Al Arab's helipad in world’s first NFT sports event

The inaugural event in the new Global Titans Fight Series will take place next month in Dubai, at a rather notable location and featuring some of the most prominent names in combat sports. Here are the details.

Global Titans Dubai – the first stop in a new series of fight nights comprising stars from the world of boxing and mixed martial arts. Billed as the world’s first NFT (non-fungible token) pay-per-view sports event, the tagline reads: “The Showcase in the Skies of Dubai”. It comprises four boxing bouts, combining both exhibition fights and a world title clash.

The bill features another exhibition fight, with retired UFC great Anderson Silva against current UAE Warriors lightweight champion Bruno Machado, while former two-time world champion boxer Badou Jack takes on Egypt’s Hany Atiyo. The night does boast a world championship bout, when former WBC female lightweight champion Delfine Persoon competes for another title. The Belgian boxer’s opponent will be confirmed this week.
