Floyd Mayweather's massive shot on Ricky Hatton in 2007 proved his deadly power game

There’s no doubting that Floyd Mayweather is one of the most skilled boxers in history.

However, it has been frequently debated by boxing fans that he does not possess the power that other fighters have.

But during his 2007 world title fight against British fighter Ricky Hatton, he produced a left hook that proved he does have immense power.

It was too much for the Manchester man with the huge punch leaving him sprawled against the canvas.

Both fighters were unbeaten going into the massive fight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

And Hatton took a massive following to the desert with over 30,000 British fans all hoping that he could cause a major upset.

The Hitman started brightly but Mayweather began to assert his dominance as the rounds progressed.

From the eighth round onwards, it only looked like a matter of time but the fight would be ended as a brilliant left-right combination had Hatton on the backfoot.

Mayweather produced two huge left hooks before finishing Hatton off with a third to ensure that the win would go down as one of the most destructive of his career.

After the fight, the Brit paid tribute to the American and just how tough a night it was for him.
