Florentino Perez responds to fan asking Real Madrid to re-sign Cristiano Ronaldo
Real Madrid are unlikely to re-sign Cristiano Ronaldo after a video of club president Florentino Perez interacting with a fan went viral.
Manchester United players are fed up with Ronaldo and want the sulking star to leave Old Trafford this summer.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner requested to leave the club last month and remains keen to call time on his return to the Red Devils just one year after re-joining from Juventus.
Ronaldo is believed to want to join a club in the Champions League, while he sat out United’s pre-season tour of Thailand and Australia due to ‘family reasons’.
Before Sunday’s defeat to Brighton, he had only taken part in around 10 days’ training and was lacking both match sharpness and a familiarity with new boss Erik ten Hag’s style and tactics.
He has been linked with several top European clubs this summer, including his old employers Real Madrid, where Ronaldo achieved huge success.
The 37-year-old, who turns 38 in February, scored 450 goals in 438 games and helped them win the Champions League four times and La Liga twice.
