Five signings that could give Erik ten Hag his dream Manchester United summer transfer window

With a Carabao Cup already under their belt, Manchester United finally look to be heading in the right direction for the first time since the Sir Alex Ferguson era.

Excellent and patient recruitment in the summer gave the squad the boost they needed. It is vital to the club’s development that they continue this policy and do not fall back into signing ‘big names’ for the sake of it.

Starting with the attack, it’s clear the Reds need a world-class centre-forward. Aside from the 27-goal Marcus Rashford, Bruno Fernandes leads the scoring charts with 10 strikes to his name.

The recruitment of Wout Weghorst was innovative, at a low cost and added an excellent option to Ten Hag's squad. However, going forward, a much more dynamic and clinical striker is needed.

A better back-up is needed. There are plenty of quality options for United to consider, and with Ten Hag’s Ajax links, the Amsterdam club could be an obvious starting destination.
