Five players who shouldn't be part of the Erik ten Hag era at Manchester United

Manchester United are set for an important summer transfer window in terms of incomings and outgoings. Erik ten Hag will be eager to offload a portion of his bloated squad, and it's important that the new boss has a say in who stays and who goes if United are to be a force on the pitch once again. Let's take a look at five players who look to have played their final game for the club.

Paul Pogba

French international and wantaway midfielder Paul Pogba should be one of the first players deemed surplus to requirements by ten Hag when his contract is up this summer. Arguably he is United’s most adept midfielder, certainly, when it comes to his progressive passing from the middle of the pitch.

But, his attitude and outbursts to the media by him and his late agent Mino Raiola will be a key factor in United’s decision to let him go. His eye-watering weekly salary of nearly £300,000 a week would also free up a hefty amount of United’s wage budget.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka

24-year-old right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka is unlikely to be favoured by Ten Hag. He was frozen out of the team by former interim manager Ralf Rangnick in favour of Portuguese international Diogo Dalot due to Wan-Bissaka’s lack of technical ability while in possession.

Ten Hag likes his full-backs to be astute and comfortable with the ball at their feet, something which Wan-Bissaka has struggled with during his time at United. It looks like his days at the club are numbered. United will most likely make a loss on the right-back after they signed him for £50million from Crystal Palace in 2019.

Jesse Lingard

Jesse Lingard will almost certainly leave United this summer.
