Five injured in mass brawl on street in which car is used as weapon

A shocking outbreak of violence on a Manchester street is being investigated by police. About ten men were involved in a vicious clash in the middle of a road in Wythenshawe on a sunny Sunday afternoon.

The incident was captured on video and footage shows a vehicle being surrounded by one group who attack the occupants. The windscreen of the car is smashed during the ruck.

The same vehicle is later driven at a group of four or five people standing on a grass verge but speeding off. Police believe weapons were used in the incident but have not specified what they were.

In a statement Greater Manchester Police said: "Officers are appealing for information following reports of a fight between two groups of peopke in Wythenshawe. At around 4.25pm on Sunday May 12th, were called to a disturbance on Floatshall Road, Manchester.

"It is additionally believed that a car was used to attack someone during the incident, which in total saw five people receive injuries. None are believed to be life-threatening or changing."

Two men. aged 25 and 31, have been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. They both remain in custody for questioning. Enquiries are ongoing and detectives are now asking for anyone with information about the incident to come forward. In particular they are seeking any relevant doorbell, dashcam, CCTV, or mobile phone footage.
