Firefighters tackle huge fire at industrial estate with reports of 'explosions'

A large fire has broken out on an industrial estate in Bridgend, South Wales. The fire is at Bridgend Industrial Estate in Coychurch.

Ten fire engines have been scrambled to the scene. Footage shows flames and thick smoke billowing from one of the buildings on the estate. Eyewitnesses have reported hearing "explosions" and seeing heavy smoke.

Those in the area are advising people to avoid the area while the fire is brought under control. It is not currently known which building the fire is coming from.

South Wales Fire and Rescue Service has confirmed ten appliances are in attendance at a large industrial fire at Bridgend Industrial Estate.

A spokesperson said they first received a call at 8.22pm about a large industrial fire. Ten appliances are in attendance along with aerial platforms and specialist officers.

The incident is ongoing. No further details are available at this time, reports WalesOnline.

One person in the area has said they heard "loads of explosions". Fire services have confirmed they are in attendance at the scene of a large industrial fire.
