Fire 'with 40ft flames' raging at disused power plant: Live updates
A fire has been raging at a disused energy plant for 13 hours. Six fire engines have attended Baglan Bay Power Station near Port Talbot since 8.16pm on Friday when the blaze was reported.
A Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman told WalesOnline at around 9.15am on Saturday there was no information yet on the cause of the fire as it was still ongoing. But the fire service issued a warning in May over a spate of arson attacks at the former gas-fired power station.
On Friday night one local posted on social media that the site was "fully on fire" and the flames looked "40ft high". Firefighters from Port Talbot, Neath, Morriston and central Swansea stations have been battling the fire through the night. No injuries have been reported.
