Final day Championship permutations as Sheffield United vie for play-off spot

Sheffield United head into the final day of the Championship campaign knowing that a win will see them secure their place in the top six, punching their ticket to play-offs.

The Blades managed to come from behind against QPR to run out 3-1 winners at the Kiyan Prince Stadium ensuring they start the last day of the Championship season this weekend in the sixth and final play-off place.

Fulham have already secured promotion back to the top flight, while Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest are set to face each other tomorrow night in what could be one of the biggest games in Championship history. Should Forest win, they will leap frog Bournemouth into second place heading into the final game of the season.

A draw could see Forest go up if they win on the final day of the season against Hull City should Bournemouth lose to Millwall. Huddersfield sit fourth and have sown up their spot in the play-offs, meaning that they, alongside one of Forest and Bournemouth will have their season extended.

Fifth placed Luton are perhaps the story of the season in the Championship this year. Nathan Jones has masterminded a campaign that sees the Hatters sitting in fifth place. They have two games left to play as they take on Fulham tonight. A win against the league leaders will see them wrap up fifth place.

Should they draw, they could still finish outside the top six on goal difference if they lose to Reading in their final game.
