Mohamed Salah could be set to join a rival Premier League team should Liverpool fail to meet the Egyptian’s contract demands.

As reported by The Athletic earlier today, Salah will choose to let his existing contract run down and leave on a free at the end of the season should the Reds fail to produce a significantly improved offer.

In that scenario, Salah’s desire would be to remain in the Premier League – something which would undoubtedly spark enormous levels of animosity from the Liverpool fan base.

Realistically, the trophy-hungry player that Salah is means he would likely only be willing to join Manchester City or Chelsea, Liverpool’s two main competitive rivals in the division.

If a deal was to transpire it would easily go down as one of the most controversial transfers ever – could it even take top spot?
