Feyenoord director confirms Tyrell Malacia transfer agreement with Manchester United

Feyenoord director Frank Arnesen has confirmed the Dutch club have reached an agreement with Manchester United over the sale of Tyrell Malacia.

Erik ten Hag has been searching for new recruits this summer as he begins his squad overhaul. Malacia, 22, would become his first signing as United boss.

The defender was being chased by a number of European giants, including Lyon who reportedly tabled a £12m bid. But it seems United have stormed in to snatch him from their grasp.

“The agreement is there," Arnesen said, as reported by Dutch outlet 1908.nl. “We are now waiting for Tyrell. If he says yes, then a transfer to Manchester United is imminent."

Malacia recently spoke about his future while away with the Netherlands national team, amid United’s interest. “I'm certainly ready for the next steps,” he said.

“But first I want to focus on the Oranje [Netherlands] squad and play here. I feel like everything happens for a reason and everything is written. If it's the right time, it's the right time.”
