Ferrari and £30k cash seized as three arrested following 'unlicensed medicines' investigation

Three people have been arrested following an investigation into the sale and supply of 'unlicensed medicines'.

A Ferrari F12 Berlinetta and about £30,000 of cash were seized by police during a series of raids at properties around Bolton, Wigan and Leigh yesterday morning (Thursday).

Several storage units and beauty shops were also searched and a large number of items relating to unlicensed versions of Botox and fillers seized by officers from the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA). Paperwork and other evidence were also seized from another address.

A 34-year-old man and two women, aged between 36 and 53, were arrested on suspicion of money laundering and offences under human medicines legislation. They remain in police custody and are due to be questioned by detectives.

The raids came following an investigation by MHRA and Greater Manchester Police into the suspected sale and supply of unlicensed medicines in Manchester.

Detective Inspector James Coles, of GMP’s Economic Crime Unit, said “We will continue to work to put a stop to criminal finances in their early stages as this often is used to further criminality. I hope this serves as a stark reminder that our unit is relentless in the pursuit to tackle money laundering.

"Whilst we have three in custody, an investigation remains ongoing, and we will continue to investigate and eradicate this type of criminal activity from the area.
