Faversham Town FC drops youth player over racist abuse on TikTok live broadcast
A youth footballer has been dropped by his club after a video emerged of him racially abusing a woman during a live broadcast on TikTok.
The youngster was dismissed “with immediate effect” by Faversham Town FC after officials became aware of the footage, which is being investigated by police.
In the clip, the player and a friend – understood to be a youth footballer for Gillingham side Hollands and Blair – are sitting in a car and appear to be inhaling a substance through balloons.
The pair were using TikTok’s livestream function, which allows users to broadcast in real time and connect with other users on-screen while members of the public watch and comment.
When a black woman appears during the livestream, the Faversham player calls her an “Oreo tart” and “charcoal tart”, before telling her she’s “caught too much sun”.
He then asks her “how many sunbeds you had?” before referring to her as “cocomelon”.
As the woman looks at the pair in shock, the footballer then says “Jackie Chan, more like blackie Chan”, before adding: “Why the **** is she looking like that boy, I’m gonna punch her ****ing...”
He then asks the woman if she’s from Niger and, when she says no, responds: “Spell Niger with two Gs, that’s what you are.”
Faversham Town FC has confirmed the player involved has been sacked.
In a statement, it said: “Faversham Town FC are aware of a video circulating on social media that contains one of our youth players.
“As a club, on being made aware of this video, [we] have spoken to the family of the player and they have supported our decision to dismiss them with immediate effect.
“This player’s actions were not acceptable, and with the zero tolerance we have towards this kind of behaviour, we had no choice but to remove
