Farm starring in Channel 5 show opens 'spectacular' play areas for kids and adults of all abilities

When any attraction opens a new play area, there are often complaints about it not being accessible for all.

Often those with special needs struggle to use the equipment, or they're not set up for adults to be able to get round them too. That's probably why the new play areas at Cannon Hall Farm, which stars in Channel 5's Springtime on the Farm with Helen Skelton, are causing such a stir.

Appearing in a video to show the zones to families, Farmer Rob said: "I'm in our brand new playground. We're super proud of it. It's designed so that children and adults of all abilities can play together in the same environment."

The clip then shows his younger brother, Farmer Dave, flying down one of the new slides. The farm's social media posts sharing the video have attracted thousands of comments from families, some saying they have already tried out the 'brilliant play areas', others keen to give them a go.

"We came yesterday and it’s absolutely perfect for my autistic son," said one. "Just so chilled and relaxed with lots of space. We will definitely be back," one said.

Another added: "Omg that's amazing!! And having an autistic 17 year old it's so special it's for all abilities and ages, well done!"

The farm is five miles west of Barnsley in South Yorkshire and around 80 minutes from Manchester. It's home to all sorts of animals, from pigs and donkeys to llamas and alpacas and there's also a reptile house.
