Fans left astounded as national anthem is sang from Tottenham's rooftop at Challenge Cup Final

One of the highlights of the Challenge Cup is the performance of Abide With Me and the national anthem. This year was no different.

Lizzie Jones stunned as she delivered a wonderful rendition of rugby league's cherished hymn. However, it was the national anthem that stole the show after it was performed from the roof of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The singer appeared on the roof of the stadium next to the famous cockerel, which resulted in gasps from many inside the stadium. The anthem went off without a hitch as they stood atop the stadium looking down on the crowd. She stood there for several minutes as the rest of the formalities concluded.

It was a memorable moment before the event had even begun and will no doubt go down as one of the more iconic moments.

The Challenge Cup Final is taking place at Tottenham for the first time and though plans are currently in place for it to return to Wembley next year, the move has gone down well with those in attendance.
