Fans chant 'Ozzy forever' and Sharon Osbourne lays flowers on star's final journey through Birmingham

For the last time Ozzy Osbourne returned to his home of Birmingham. Thousands upon thousands of fans gathered in the city to watch his funeral procession through Broad Street.

The rock legend and frontman of Black Sabbath died at the age of 76 on Tuesday, July 22 after performing his final show weeks earlier. This afternoon his cortege was brought to Broad Street in Birmingham where fans lined the roads from the early hours of the morning.

It is there that the Black Sabbath Bridge and Bench have been decorated with memorial notes, cards, flowers and pictures for the Prince of Darkness.

Sharon and her children exited their cars to lay flowers at the bench whilst fans chanted "Ozzy forever" and "we love you Sharon". The tearful family held up peace signs to the crowds. For the latest showbiz news sign up to our newsletter
