Family of Harvey Willgoose pay tribute to 'beautiful boy' after teenager stabbed to death at high school
The family of a teenager stabbed to death at a high school in Sheffield have paid an emotional tribute to their 'beautiful boy'. Harvey Willgoose, 15, tragically died after he was knifed at All Saints Catholic High School in Sheffield, at about 12.17pm on Monday (February 3).
South Yorkshire Police said a 15-year-old boy who was arrested on suspicion of murder remains in custody. Members of Harvey's family were seen arriving at the school on Tuesday, where floral tributes had been laid at the scene.
Harvey’s mother arrived at the school in a black car with other people believed to be members of his family and they were let through the gates by police officers.
In a statement issued through South Yorkshire Police, his family said: "We are utterly heartbroken at the loss of our beautiful boy, Harvey Goose.
“Our lives are devastated and will never be the same again. We have lost a beloved son, brother, grandson, cousin, nephew and most importantly, a best friend to all.
“Harvey will be forever known for being a caring, loving and funny young man. At this difficult time we ask you to please respect our privacy as we grieve as a family.”
The family stood for a few minutes by flowers that had been left by other pupils throughout the day.
His grieving mother had earlier shared posts with her 56,000 followers on TikTok to express her loss. In one, she wrote: “Our Harvey, no words” with heartbroken emojis and a montage of images of them together.
In another, she wrote: “My Harvey, life is never gunner be the same. Love you so much.” His sister Sophie wrote on Facebook: “My heart is broken into a million pieces I love you so much Harvey. Hug your loved ones a little tighter tonight cos I wish I could.”
