Family 'lose everything' in devastating house fire just days before Christmas
A family have been left devastated after a horrific blaze ripped through their home just days before Christmas.
The Hobson family, from Blackpool, say they have 'lost everything' after a catastrophic fire destroyed their home on Henson Drive on Tuesday (December 17).
The family said the fire took with it 'cherished belongings, Christmas gifts, and countless memories'. Their dog Izzy was 'miraculously rescued from the flames' during the incident, reports Lancs Live.
Fire crews, including eight engines, an aerial ladder platform, and a drone team, were deployed to the scene on Tuesday afternoon and worked tirelessly for 27 hours to extinguish the blaze. The cause of the fire remains unknown.
In the wake of this 'unimaginable tragedy', the community has come together in support of the family, raising over £6,100 to aid them in rebuilding their lives.
Holly Hobson expressed her heartbreak on Facebook: "Unfortunately today my childhood home set on fire, we are all absolutely devastated as we have lost everything we own in that house but also feeling so incredibly lucky that everyone has walked away alive and with little injuries.
"Gutted doesn't even come close to explain how we are feeling at this moment in time but I just want to thank all our neighbours and emergency services for everything that they have done today for me and my family. All the support and messages mean the absolute world to us all and I can't thank everyone enough for the help they've provided.
"Those who know me know the bond I have with my grandparents and for them to have been able to walk away from that today has us all feeling very fortunate in such an unfortunate situation. Again, thank you so much to everyone that helped, and to the firefighter
