"Fake And Fraudulent": BCCI Denies Charging Money From Youngsters For NCA Admission

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) sent a press release, denying claims that the board has been charging money from youngsters to give them the access to the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru. The BCCI said that it has come across advertisements claiming to give young aspirants admission to the NCA in Bengaluru by charging a certain amount of fees. The board, however, denied the claims saying no such option is available, with the academy only open to the BCCI-contracted players and budding cricketers recommended by state academies.

In its statement, the BCCI said: "The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has recently come across fraudulent advertisements promising aspiring cricketers admission to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru."
 
"The BCCI wishes to clarify that it does not charge any money from cricketers to use its facility. The BCCI has its set of protocols, and entry into the NCA is a merit-based process. The NCA is open to only BCCI's contracted players, players in the targeted group, and cricketers recommended by State Associations. It is not open to any agency other than the ones mentioned above."
 
"Cricketers, coaches and the public at large are advised to exercise caution and not fall prey to such fake and fraudulent."

The NCA is usually used by senior national team cricketers undergoing rehab after sustaining injuries. The likes of Hardik Pandya, Rishabh Pant, Ravindra Jadeja, etc. are some of the players who recently went through the rehab process at the NCA.

Former India cricketer VVS Laxman is the man in charge of the NCA in Bengaluru.
