Fabio Carvalho winner: Newcastle bench caught throwing objects at Liverpool's

There were scenes of pandemonium at Anfield on Wednesday evening.

In the 98th minute of a tense Premier League battle between Liverpool and Newcastle United, 20-year-old Fabio Carvalho scored a dramatic goal to seal a 2-1 victory for the hosts.

The Portuguese attacking midfielder volleyed home from close range to send his team’s fans stationed in the stands absolutely wild.

There were also some chaotic scenes between the two dugouts, with those on the Liverpool side appearing to get a little bit carried away over the epic winning goal.

However, it seems their response to Carvalho’s strike was at least partly instigated by some members of the Newcastle contingent.

When reviewing the events that unfolded at Anfield, BT Sport broadcast footage that clearly shows objects being thrown at Liverpool staff by some of those in the opposition’s dugout.

Thankfully, the throws were pretty poor, but they’re still actions which should be reviewed by those in power at Premier League HQ.

Yes, tempers would have reached boiling point in the immediate aftermath of such a crazy on-field moment, however, you can’t just go around hurling projectiles at an opponent.

Much of the animosity between the two sides on Wednesday night stemmed from Newcastle’s time-wasting tactics, which they implemented regularly – particularly after Roberto Firmino cancelled out Alexander Isak’s opener.
