F1 to hold talks with Netflix over 'distorted' image of the sport - Stefano Domenicali

F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali says that talks will be had with Netflix regarding 'Drive to Survive'.

Several F1 drivers came forward saying that the series is an unfair portrayal of relationships in the sport.

Drivers like Max Verstappen opted against partaking in the series.

The CEO of Formula One Group, Stefano Domenicali, says they will hold talks with Netflix following complaints from some drivers over the accuracy of their 'Drive to Survive' documentary series.

While public interest in the Netflix series has been high, some drivers have been left disgruntled by the programme, as they feel it tries to sensationalise events and drum up controversy at the cost of accuracy in reporting.

Max Verstappen opted out of taking part in the series on his journey to becoming World Champion because he felt they were faking rivalries. At the same time, Lando Norris also recently criticised the show for an inaccurate portrayal of his early relationship with McLaren teammate Daniel Ricciardo.

A successful effect

Domenicali told the Italian edition of Motorsport.com: "There is no question that the Netflix project has had a very successful effect. In order to ignite the interest of a new audience, a tone was used that, in some ways, focused on dramatising the story.

"It's an opportunity, but I think it needs to be understood. We talked about it this weekend (in Bahrain) at a meeting with the teams as well.
