F1: Mick Schumacher suffers serious crash at Saudi Arabian GP
Mick Schumacher was involved in a serious crash in qualifying for the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix on Saturday.
Spectators took a sharp intake of breath when the Haas driver suffered a heavy collision into the wall during Q2, which ultimately led to the session being red flagged.
Schumacher’s car broke apart as it thudded into the narrow sides of the Jeddah Corniche Circuit at Turn 12, understandably prompting concerns for his health from everybody watching.
There are fans and commentators alike who have criticised the layout of the circuit with its lack of run-off spaces meaning that even the smallest of errors can lead to hairy moments.
And that was certainly the case with Schumacher’s collision as it took the headlines in a dramatic qualifying session that had already seen Lewis Hamilton eliminated in Q1.
A red flag has been issued following Mick Schumacher's crash and they're working to clear the track of debris. We understand that Mick is conscious, out of the car and currently on his way to the medical centre
